Pandora's Story Summary

Story Summary:
Pandora is the master of Sebastian.   The demon contract will be fulfilled when two things are complete: Pandora is put in her father's will as his successor to both the fortune and the firm and her attacker Adam is humiliated, disowned and imprisoned.  Then Sebastian can devour her soul.  Leaving her father without an heir and destroying the legacy he had spent a lifetime trying to achieve.


Characters:

Pandora(Protagonist - Master of demon butler Sebastian)
Pandora was raised among great wealth and influence.  Pandora was considered a great disappointment to her father as he desired a son more than anything.  Pandora desired her father's approval and focused on proving her value to him.  Luckily, Pandora was unusually intelligent and she thrived at the prep schools she attended.  She was considered brilliant and praised for her limitless potential.  Her teacher's consistent and considerable praise finally caught the attention of her father (Henry) and he began showing favor to his youngest daughter - toying with the idea that she could carry on his legacy.  

Her father's approval was a satisfying reward but it was also the catalyst for the terrible events yet to come.  Adam was like a son to Pandora's father and he was convinced of his rightful claim to the law firm as his father had been a partner until his death a few years previous.  Adam had been groomed to rake over his father's partnership and when she heard of Pandora's scholarly success and her father's excited tone when talking about his daughter's limitless potential - Adam decided to take action to stop Pandora before she could come any closer to ruining his dream.  

Adam brutally attacked and raped Pandora - threatening her and warning her to keep her distance.  Pandora immediately went to her father for help - she was bruised, beaten and hysterical from the trauma.  She told him what happened and what Adam had threatened.  However, her father reacted quite differently than she expected and created a rift between them that would never close.  Pandora's pained confession only fed more to Henry's fear that a woman was too weak and inferior to fully uphold his legacy and achieve success in law.  Henry surmised that his most likely heir was in fact Adam and that Pandora's accusations would only hinder Adam's success.  So Pandora's father discounted her accusations and instead defended Adam - telling his daughter that she had probably been asking for it anyway.  Pandora could not believe what was happening - not only had she been attacked but now her own father was betraying her and siding with the man who raped her.  

The next year of Pandora's life was shrouded in depression and hopelessness.  She did not attend school and refused to see anyone.  She attended church regularly and prayed to God to help her but her prayers went unanswered - she found no power in prayer and received no strength from God.  It was after a year of his hopeless routine that Pandora turned to a different source for help.

Enter the demon Sebastian.

Henry (Pandora's Father)
Pandora's father is named Henry and he controls a very prestigious law firm that handles high profile cases and huge payouts. Henry had two girls and did not believe either could take over his legacy or law firm because of their delicate feminine feelings.  He was very disappointed and voiced this disappointment to his daughters as often as he could.  

Henry started the law firm with his best friend.  They were partners of the law firm until his best friend died of a heart condition.  However, his best friend had one son named Adam and Adam was groomed to reclaim his father's position as partner of the law firm.  

Henry considered his law firm his personal legacy and wanted nothing more than to leave the law firm to his son but when he had two daughters – he set his sights on his best friend's son Adam with the belief that he could raise Adam to be a worthy heir.

Adam (Pandora's Rival)
Adam is a statuesque, charismatic and intelligent young man with a devious, manipulative darkness lurking below the surface.  Adam's dark side was praised by his own father and Pandora's father Henry because they considered those qualities to be extremely valuable.   When Adam's father died, Henry took this opportunity to take Adam under his wing and finally have the son he had always wanted.

Adam love Adam.  He is young, hot and loves to show off.  Adam always seems to be talking to a reporter - giving interviews about his views on the hottest technology, recent fashion trends and celebrity gossip - frivolous matters but Adam believes everyone is entitled to Adam's opinions.  Not their own opinions mind you.  Unless those opinions reflect Adam's opinions in which case Adam is fine with it.  Also, Adam speaks in third person - referring to himself as Adam.  Because that is not obnoxious at all.  Well, Adam certainly does not think it is and what Adam thinks is all that matters.  

Misc Characters
Pandora's mother came from old money – the type of people who live in estates rather than homes.    Pandora's mother left Pandora and her sister when they were young and ran away with a struggling artist/musician.  She left the wealth and prestige she was accustomed to as well as her two daughters and never looked back.   She did have a son with the artist/musician and that son seeks Pandora out in an effort to connect to the only family he has since he has no other siblings and his mother had passed away recently.

Pandora has an older sister who spent most of her childhood raised by her mother and did not have a relationship with her father so when her mother left, the older sister quickly moved far away from him and accepting large cash deposits to continue the lifestyle she was accustomed to.  Although Pandora's older sister tried to convince her younger sister to join her - Pandora refused as she had her eyes set on taking what was rightfully hers and enforcing vengeance on her father and Adam.

Editing: 6/26/12 - Went to a wedding over the weekend and spent the 2 hour car ride talking at length with Collin about my character Pandora and her world.  I thought he would be all 'meh' about it (since he is all 'meh' about everything) but he really got into it!  Some things he and I were able to fix on the spot.  Other things we were able to address as funky but did not come up with solutions.  
Changes:
Father is an industrialist - owns a resource like steel that everyone uses.  Millionaires do not hold influence anymore - it's all about the billionaires baby.  
Adam is a crappy name - I need to think of a better name.  But it is so damn easy to type.
Worked on Adam's character.  I freaking love Adam now!  He is super over-the-top full of himself.  And Collin came up with some really good ideas to show his diabolical side too.
